Sketchbook pages - studying other artist's watercolor art styles
I am a firm believer in studying another artist’s style, so this month, I used my sketchbook to do exactly that. I studied from the books of Yuko Nagayama and Joyce Hicks, while I also copied Cezanne’s watercolor style from his painting “Still Life with Blue Pot”.
Yuko Nagayama is a master watercolorist with a unique atmospheric style (http://www.nagayamay.com/w_work/w_work.html) and Joyce Hicks is an excellent painter who transforms mundane scenes into beautiful paintings (https://jhicksfineart.com/).
In the photos below you can see my reproductions of the demonstration paintings I did from these two books.
